Worbarrow Bay Tyneham

Information: This beach is within the boundaries of the firing ranges, it is not ideal for the disabled due to a long walk from the carpark over stoney ground and a steep slope down onto the beach. Tyneham village is a museum and a place of historical interest.

Emergency Facilties: None at the beach, Toilets near the carpark. No shops or cafes in the area.
Safe for Kids: The water level does drop off quickly, safe for good swimmers.

Getting Here: From Wareham or Wool follow the road signs for East Lulworth and Kimmeridge which will take you onto the firing ranges, note if the gates are shut then you can not access this beach, see the Tyneham Opening Times page for details.
Parking: Tyneham Carpark which is about half a mile or so away.

Walking: Coastal Walks when the firing ranges are open., Also the Tyneham village is next to the carpark.
Other beaches nearby: Kimmeridge, Lulworth Cove (shell shaped beach) and Durdle Door (beach with the arch).
Nearest Supermarket seaside resort of Swanage, smaller shops in Lulworth West and Wool, Wareham is a market town with a mixture of shops, cafes and pubs. Cafe at Kimmeridge, Weymouth is a seaside resort with good shopping facilities and a train station linking to Dorchester, Wool, Wareham, Poole Bournemouth and villages in between on route for London Waterloo Station.
