Sandsfoot Cove
Sandsfoot Beach, Sandsfoot Cove also known as Castle Cove Rodwell area Weymouth Dorset

Beach Type: Sand with rock pools - Sandsfoot beach is small with a rocky backdrop on one side and low cliff on the other - Classed as Private by the Weymouth sailing club but for public use as long as rubbish is taken home.
Information: The beach is situated within the harbour walls of Portland and Weymouth
Lifeguard: Not on this beach
Emergency Facilities: No but the Air Sea Rescue helicopter is based at Portland at the other side of the harbour and the lifeboat station is in Weymouth harbour, Weymouth main beach has lifeguards.
Pier: Not for public use
Safe for Kids: Yes shallow waters beware of slippery rocks on one side of the beach at low tide and the main pipework leading into the sea in the centre of the beach which is also slippery
Facilities: None at the beach, nearest cafe at Sandsfoot Castle
Parking: Very limited road parking nearby
Public Transport: Nearest bus stop on Rodwell Road Wyke Regis and Portland bus route
Walking: Walk to the nearby Sandsfoot Castle ruins or along the rodwell trail to Weymouth, Alternatively you can walk along the path behind the beach to the fleet and Chesil beach

Nearest other safe sandy beach isĀ Weymouth beach , nearest pebble beaches for angling is Chesil beach, nearest pebble beach for families is at Newtons Cove below the Nothe Fort. Local attractions nearby Sandsfoot Castle and Gardens
