Beach Type: An unusual beach of sand, fossil bearing shale, pebbles and in places small bolders!
Information: Popular with divers and snorkellers. The wave set-up here makes it a popular destination for wave-sailing windsurfers and surfers.
Lifeguard: No
Emergency Facilties: Coastguard is based in West Lulworth by Lulworth Cove
Pier: No
Safe for Kids: Not really suitable for young, non or poor swimmers, Beware of currents. Paddling on the shore is fine
Litter and Dogs: Bins are provided in carpark areas
Facilities: Toilets are situated nearby in the boating parking area ( eastern end of the beach) There are  slipways for boats windsurfers etc
Activities: Canoeing, Windsurfing. surfing, Diving, Snorkelling, Fishing.
Getting there: From Corfe castle follow Church Knowle rd to Kimmeridge village. then the toll road to the cliff-top car park. The path to the beach is not suitable for disabled visitors. Disabled visitors can drive down into the marina end of the beach and park their safely to view the area.
Parking: Spaces numerous on a green field picnic area, carpark is divided standard cars, vans, motorhomes, coaches and another area for divers and sailings towing boats and equipment.
Public Transport: None
Walking: On the south west coastal path.
Coach Parking: Main Carparking area
Private Road Toll: Yes

 

Icecreams: Icecream van in the carpark, unable to guarentee it being there all the time, otherwise in the village
Slipway:
Available down the hill near the boating carpark

Other beaches nearby Wobarrow Bay near Tyneham an entire village museum of days gone by

Places of Interest: Clavell Folly Tower is on the hill, the clifftop walkway too it by the boating slipways its very steep starting with a lot of steps then onto the cliff gravel path, it is not safe for young children, and has no railings on the cliff edge.
The Nodding Donkey Oil Machinery is on the opposite cliff West Side of Kimmeridge.
