Beach Type: Small pebble/shingle, The beach is shelved.
Information: Wooden Walkway provided to the top of the beach from the carpark, though not along the beach, providing access to pushchairs and wheelchairs, who would like to view the coast.Often a location for local Anglers, arrive earlier to gain a good position during mackerel season!
Lifeguard: No
Emergency Facilities: No but the Air Sea Rescue helicopter is based at Portland and the lifeboat station is in Weymouth harbour.
Pier: No
Safe for Kids: Only on the beach keeping away from the water
Facilities: Toilets including radar key disabled, small snack Cafe, next to the carpark. Plenty of picnic space.
Parking: There is pay-and-display car parking, daily tickets only very reasonably priced.
Public Transport: None, access by own transport only, the beach access is on the road leading to abbotsbury gardens. continue down the road past the gardens and carparks to find the beach carpark.
Walking: Coastal walking either to Cogden Beach then 1 mile away to West Bexington beach or towards Portland
Fishing: Fishing at Abbotsbury Beach, during the summer months this beach is lined with families Mackerel fishing
Other attractions close by include Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens, Abbotsbury Swannery and the Childrens Farm at Tithe Barn Abbotsbury.
